Rescued from Horror House – Katy & Megan’s story

Rescued From A House Of Horror: Can You Help Us With Katy & Megan’s Care Costs? Caked in faeces, eyes full of fear, bodies thin and coats stained yellow with urine… a case so shocking it made national news.
👉 Please, if you can, donate today to help us provide Katie & Megan with the care they deserve:
Last week, on the outskirts of Tickhill, Doncaster, over 80 dogs were rescued from truly horrific conditions.💔 Now our RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford Branch has joined forces with many other branches across the country to provide vital rescue spaces for these poor, traumatised animals. We’d like you to meet the two we’re fighting for – Katie & Megan.
Both just 2 years old, Katie & Megan arrived utterly broken. Our team were taken back by how shutdown they were, describing them as “frozen with fear, broken emotionally and terrified of every sound and movement”. It is truly one of the most harrowing things to witness in Animal Rescue and one of the most appalling cases we’ve seen this year.
These girls have endured so much in their short lives… but it’s our job to help them learn to trust humans again and experience what love feels like. This may take a very long time but right now they’re safe in our care and their long journey to recovery begins.
Our incredible team are working closely with the girls as we share this with you – but we expect it will be a long and heartbreaking 6–8 weeks process of patient rehabilitation, gentle handling, expert veterinary care, and lots of love to rebuild their trust and confidence.
Just the most basic level care will cost our branch a minimum of £800— and that’s before any unexpected medical or behavioural needs. Our branch is currently caring for a staggering 124 other animals, which is a record-high figure for us and as a self-funded local charity, we need you, so we can help them.

Thank you so much for your support, we’ll be sure to share updates of Katie & Megan’s journey with us.Together, we can help them leave their past behind and show them what love, kindness, and hope truly feel like.
