Seven precious lives abandoned in a cardboard box – can you help us with kittens £1164 care costs?
On 14th April, seven tiny kittens were discovered abandoned in a cardboard box in Brighouse town centre. No bedding. No food and no sign of their mum. Just seven frightened babies, crammed together, struggling in the heat. At an estimated 6/7 weeks old, this is far too young to be away from their Mum.
By the time they reached us, they were distressed and overheated after being confined in such a small space. It’s heartbreaking to imagine how long they had been there or what might have happened if they hadn’t reached our care.
Thanks to quick action and the dedication of our team, every single kitten has now received veterinary checks, round the clock care and the rehabilitation they so desperately needed. We’re relieved to say they are all currently in very good health. 💙
These kittens still need ongoing care, nutritious food, and support as they grow stronger and prepare for safe, loving homes. Without their mum, everything they need must come from us.
The total cost of their veterinary treatment, food, and rehabilitation is now £1164. These little sweethearts didn’t choose to be abandoned, left in the heat, scared and alone and we together we can help them never feel so unloved ever again.
Our Centre is currently seeing record high rates of cats and kittens needing our care, from surrender to abandonment, our pens are full of pregnant mums to mums and kittens. Kitten season is starting earlier and finishing later and we’ve never seen our waiting list numbers so high.
We want to be a reliable source of safety for the many cats and kittens who desperately need us – but unexpected situations like this but a huge drain on our resources and financial stability.
Please donate today if you can. Every contribution, no matter the size, goes directly towards giving these kittens the care, safety, and future they deserve.
Because no animal should ever be left behind in a box, hoping someone will find them in time.
We’re delighted to let you know that nearly all of these little fighters are thriving and 5 our of 7 are already reserved and waiting to join their new amazing families. We’ve named this amazing bunch – Waddles, Woowoo, Weaver, Wally, Waddles, Wednesday and Webster.
Let’s make sure we can always be here for the inevitable future animals in crisis – thank you so much for your support!
