We were so excited when Miss Eyles, Y5 teacher at Crow Lane Primary School got in touch to tell us all about the amazing fundraising being carried out by one of the pupils in her class.
We were lucky enough to be chosen by Toby, who carries out yearly fundraising for a charity of his choosing, as his nominated charity for this year. Toby organised a “guess the number of sweets in the jar” competition at school, and managed to raise an incredible £80 for us – what a superstar! On top of this, Toby’s mum ran the same at her workplace and managed to raise a further £100, bringing the grand total to a brilliant £180.
We visited Crow Lane Primary School earlier this week to thank Toby and to explain how the money would be able to help us, and had a wonderful time talking with many compassionate young animal lovers. What’s more, Miss Eyles asked pupils to donate any unwanted cuddly toys to our branch and managed to collect a staggering 5 bin bags worth of teddies. The toys in question will help us raise even more vital funds for our animal centre on our fundraising stall at events!
We are so grateful to Toby and his mum for their generosity, and Miss Eyles and all the pupils at Crow Lane for helping to raise such an wonderful amount which will help us to look after the many animals currently in our centre until we find their forever homes.
If your school would like to fundraise for us, collect donations or simply hear more about the work that we do, we’d absolutely love to hear from you! Contact us on fundraising@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbradford.org.
