Shylo was one of the very first dogs to arrive in our care in 2025, first coming through our doors on Jan 10th. This poor boy had been abandoned and left suffering from an extremely painful condition called Entropion, this condition causes the eyelashes to grow into the eye and without surgery, results in extreme pain and the possibility of blindness.
If Shylo hadn’t landed in our care, we dread to think of his pain and suffering. Thankfully, our wonderful team welcomed Shylo with open arms and made him feel as comfortable and as safe as possible. After he’d adjusted to our team and to his new shelter life, we arranged for this affectionate boy to finally receive the surgery he needed to be happy and pain-free!
Sadly, Entropion surgery is quite an intricate procedure and isn’t always fully successful the first time around and this was the case for our poor Shylo. Thankfully, his second surgery was a success and after weeks of feeling sore on his road to recovery, his eyes have healed, he has a new spring in his step and he is officially well enough to find his forever home!
We’re honoured to have helped this amazing boy get the treatment he desperately needed and deserved, to find his second chance at love. However, as a local and self-funded branch, Shylo’s 3 months of ongoing care, 2 surgeries and lots of medication to keep his pain and infection at bay, has cost our branch over £600 in veterinary bills.
We would be so grateful for any donations towards Shylo’s care costs. Every single penny directly supports our local RSPCA and means we can continue to provide life-changing procedures and treatment to get animals like Shylo out of pain and into safe, loving forever homes.
Thank you so much for your support!
