Two weeks ago, Bunny, Marshall, Nimbus, Xander, Woody, Ace, Oslo and Neo arrived with us in a heartbreaking condition.
They were tiny, vulnerable, suffering and desperately ill. Some had collapsed and all were covered in fleas, suffering from severe cat flu and battling Giardia. Some had eyes so sore they could barely open them or see at all.
If we’re totally honest, we didn’t know if they would make it. But our care team acted immediately, placing the kittens into our isolation unit and beginning the intensive care they so urgently needed.
And they fought back!
Just two weeks later, the difference is nothing short of incredible. Some are recovering beautifully, while others still need a little more time and care, but all are now on the road to recovery and no longer suffering or in pain.

Their treatment has already cost around £1,800… but their story is about way more than one vet bill.
We are seeing some of the worst animal welfare cases we’ve seen in decades, and so much of this suffering is preventable. Neutering, vaccinations, and simply providing sanitary and safe living conditions could have stopped so much of this suffering.

We are transforming our Wade Street Animal Centre, including building a brand new cattery where vulnerable cats and kittens can receive the safe, suitable and specialist care they need and deserve.
These eight kittens certainly won’t be the last… and we need to be ready.
