11 year old sweetheart Haggis was rescued from a property after her original owner could no longer meet her needs. What we found was an older girl who had quietly been struggling on in severe pain, for years and years.

Suffering from severe eye and ear infections, with her teeth in a truly horrendous state… and on top of that, multiple weeping, sore mammary tumours. It’s heartbreaking to imagine how this little lady has coped. Yet, in a testament to her incredible spirit, she still shows love at every opportunity! Offering our team gentle kisses, cuddles, and even bringing you her favourite to with a wagging tail to make you smile.

Sadly, Haggis’ tumours are a ticking clock that we just can’t ignore. Chest X-rays have thankfully shown no visible spread to her lungs, meaning surgery could save her life and allow her to enjoy her final years pain-free and loved, just as  she deserves.

Because of the sheer amount and positioning of the tumours, Haggis will need two mammary surgeries to give her the safest possible outcome. This involves; surgeries, pain-relief and post-operative care, monitoring and medication

The total estimated cost is £2,038 but could likely exceed this figure.

We are a self-funded local branch, we receive no direct funding from the National RSPCA or the government. At the same time as fighting for dogs like Haggis, we are in the middle of a vital refurbishment project to keep our kennels open, something that is already limiting our resources…but we refuse to give up on her.

Haggis’ eyes are so full of trust and hope. She still has so much life in her soul and so much love to give, we desperately want to give her the happily-ever-after she deserves after many years of pain and struggle.

We know we have shared several appeals recently and your kindness means everything to us. But Haggis’ surgery cannot wait. Please help us raise £2,038 to save this beautiful little girl. Let’s show Haggis that older dogs are worth fighting for.

Any donation, no matter, the size will be hugely appreciated. We understand not everyone is in a position to donate, so if you can’t contribute please share her story instead, so we can give Haggis the best possible chance.

Thank you so, so much for your support, without you we wouldn’t be here to help animals like Haggis, you’re such an important part of our mission.
