In July 2025 we began our Really Big ReFURb – an exciting transformation of our outdated animal centre into a modern, safe, welcoming space for animals who need us most.
Our old kennel blocks no longer met current welfare standards, so this refurbishment isn’t just an upgrade, it’s essential. It’s about giving every animal that walks through our doors the safe, calm and enriching environment they truly deserve.
How it’s going…Our old kennels have now been demolished, our dogs are safely settled in temporary accommodation, and our cats are enjoying having the place to themselves and a sound-proofed cattery!
The brand-new kennels are being built to:
Reduce noise and stress Prevent dogs from facing each other Improve safety for animals and staff Provide more space for enrichment and one-to-one careSince July, we’ve reached incredible milestones – from demolition and groundwork to construction. As of early February, the kennels are coming together and the walls are going up right now!
