Valentails 2024: Lonely Hearts appeal and competition

𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹/𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆?…

February is just around the corner, which means it’s nearly time for our annual Valentails Appeal! This year we’re inviting local schools to show our animals you care by making a Valentines card or by taking part in our lonely hearts advert competition to help them find a loving home.  Do you know a school that would love to get involved?

To make the card with your class, simply choose an animal from our website adoption page and post the card(s) to our Wade Street Animal Centre in Halifax, or alternatively, we can collect them from your school before 14th February by emailing rachaelcooper@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbradford.org.uk. We will share the cards with our staff (and the animals) to show them how much our community cares for the well-being and future of all the animals in our centre, as well as posting a selection on our website and social media. Make sure you sign the card too so we can credit the artists behind the work!

We’re also running a competition for local school children to write a “Lonely Hearts” advert for the fabulous furries awaiting adoption on our website (with the advert aimed at potential adopters!). The most adorable ads will be published on our website and social media, alongside a photo of the animal and the winners will receive a special rosette too.

We are delighted that the Halifax Courier is supporting this competition and will share the winning adverts in an article around Valentine’s day too!
