Starting today (10th June 2024), it will be a legal requirement to microchip your cat if they are older than 20 weeks, and microchip details must be kept up to date.
Microchipping is quick, low-cost (with many places offering free micro-chipping) and vital for helping vets and rescues to identify lost cats or strays. Microchips are tiny – around the size of a grain of rice – and shouldn’t cause any problems for your cat.
